Two years and five weeks post op - Skin Removal

The two year anniversary of my mini gastric bypass went unmentioned and I guess this shows how used now I am to being slimmer.  It is no longer something I think about every day.  My weight has been stable since September last year and I now weigh 71.5 kilos and hover between 70.5 and 72.5 kilos on a week to week basis.

Now it's finally time to have the excess skin on my abdomen removed.  The plot is to do this op removing the skin in a way which will result in a very large upside down T shaped scar.

I am not looking forward to the operation as I am very worried about healing such large incisions but have to try and be positive.  I will enter the hospital on Sunday, 8 September and have the operation on the following day.  Dr David Lechaux, who did my bypass, will be my surgeon and this will be the third time he's operated on me so I have complete confidence in him.

I'll post again after the operation.

  2. Not a gastric sleeve, a mini gastric bypass - it's a different operation.
